U/20 McKay Timbers Hobart Chargers - Eltham Tryouts - powered by Swisherr

Time: 4pm - 5pm

Players must be U20 in 2025 (2006 & 2007)

Expectations:

Swisherr are partnering with the Hobart Chargers to develop young athletes who aspire to play at this level in the future.

The Hobart Chargers and Swisherr are jointly committed to developing pathways  for young Tasmanians - and as part of this we are launching the Hobart Chargers Development Academy - powered by Swisherr.   Over the coming 3 years this program will grow and develop to include athletes aging out of junior basketball and looking to go to the next level.  The art Chargers Development Academy - powered by Swisherr will include training sessions and programs with Swisherr Head Coaches Anthony Stewart and Mark Nash, nutrition, strength and conditioning and tours to national tournaments.

In 2025 the Hobart Chargers will be looking to increase the percentage of young Tasmanians representing the club from 60% to 80%.

If successful at tryouts, athletes will be expected to train either with the Hobart Chargers during pre season or be available for a minimum of two sessions a week.

Training will include track work, on court team sessions, and small group sessions / individuals - there will be no cost for the weekly sessions however players will be expected to fund their trip to Melbourne for the Eltham tournament (23-26 January 2025).  Approximate costs for the Eltham tour in January will be $2200 including airfares, transport, accomodation, uniforms, travel kits and food.
