Three blokes who are equally passionate about their hoops and doing what they can to create pathways and opportunities for young people to fulfil their potential.
Way back in the early nineties hoops tragic David Bartlett was sitting courtside at the Derwent Entertainment Centre to see two young skinny players make their NBL debut for the Hobart Tassie Devils. Those players - Mark Nash and Anthony Stewart - went on to win a combined three NBL Championships and play over 900 professional games in Australia's National Basketball League. Fast forward about 30 years and we find the same three blokes building Swisherr Hoops Academy. Our purpose is to build, grow and inspire pathways for young people through basketball.
We are nothing without the great young people we choose to surround ourselves with. Swisherr's purpose is to provide pathways through basketball, education and work for young people. These young people (and a few older ones) are on the journey with us to create something great. Lets be honest - most of them need a good haircut but they love their hoops and they love making sure everyone who comes to Swisherr has a great experience.
